Action card values

Korta "Pull Two"- when you use this card, the other player must draw two cards and skip a turn. This card can be used to cover a card of the same suit or a "Take 2" card. All players may deal these cards until one player no longer has this card. It is possible that a player may have to take 8 or more cards! If the last card was the first card revealed at the start of the game, the same rules apply.

Korta "Change direction" - When you use this card, the direction of play changes (if the game was played clockwise, the card is drawn and the game is played counterclockwise or vice versa). This card can only be placed on the same suit or on another "Change direction" card. If this card was the first card revealed at the start of the game, the game is started by dealing the cards, and the next move is made by the player sitting on the right instead of the left.

Korta "Miss a move" - when you use this card, the next player skips the turn and is called the "skipping player". This card can only be placed on a card of the same suit or on another "Skip Turn" card. If this card is drawn at the start of the game, the player to the left of the dealer misses the turn and the player to the left of the player who missed the turn starts the game.

Korta "Choose a colour" - When you use this card, you choose the colour to continue the game (any colour, including the colour played before the "Pick a colour" special). You can use this card even if you have another card that is suitable for the turn. If the special Pick a Colour card is drawn at the start of the game, the player to the dealer's left chooses the colour with which play continues.

Korta "Pick a colour and take 4" - It is the best and most useful card in the game, and the one that can turn the game in your favour. When you use this card, you can choose a colour that continues the game; in addition, the next player must take 4 cards from the top of the Draw pile and skip his turn. A player with a "Pick a colour and take 4" card may use it at any time, but only during their turn. This card can be placed while holding the correct card. If this card was the first card revealed at the start of the game, it returns to the deck and the next card is revealed.

Getting ready

Each player draws a card - the player who draws the highest number is the dealer.

The dealer shuffles the cards and deals 7 cards to each player. Place the remaining cards on the table - this will be the "Draw" pile. The top card of the 'Pull' pile is then turned over to start the 'Drop' pile. Note! If the first discard card is "Pick a suit and take 4" (see its meaning in the rules section "Action card values").

The player to the left of the dealer starts the game. It is essential that the card that the player wishes to place on the 'Discard' pile matches the colour, number or action card symbol. For example, if the top of the discard pile contains a red 7 card, the player must place a red card or a card of any colour with the number 7.

If a player does not have any cards that are eligible to be dealt, the player must take a card from the Draw pile. If the drawn card is eligible, it may be dealt immediately on the same turn, but if it is not, the player keeps it and it is the next player's turn to deal.

game unoA player may also choose not to discard a card, even if he has a suitable card, but to strategise and draw from the Draw pile. If the drawn card is eligible, it may be dealt immediately on the same turn, but the player may not draw any other card after this draw.

If the cards in the Draw pile run out and each player still has cards left, the cards must be shuffled thoroughly and the game continued.

When a player is down to a single card, he must call "Uno". If the player forgets to call "Uno", the player must draw two cards from the "Draw" pile. However, this penalty rule only works if the other players notice it (for more penalties, see the "Penalties" section of the rules).

Purpose of Uno

Discard all your cards as quickly as possible to score as many points as possible (scoring method 1) or as few points as possible (scoring method 2).

How to win?

To win the game and be the first to discard all the cards, it is recommended to save the action cards for the end. The action cards "Pick a colour" and "Pick a colour and take 4 cards" are particularly powerful, as you can throw a card on any colour card and change the colour to suit yourself.

Try to keep at least 2 cards of the same suit - this way your opponent is more likely not to have a card that can change the suit of the card.

The golden rule is to remember to shout 'Uno', as you'll have to take extra cards.

Who won UNO?

The first player to score the agreed amount of points (e.g. 500) wins, or the player with the lowest number of points (e.g. 100) wins.

UNO game - scoring:

Method 1. You get points when you get rid of your cards before your opponents. For example, you have agreed to play to 500 and the first person to get that amount of points wins the game. The first player to run out of cards scores points for all the cards left with his opponents. Points are calculated as follows: regular cards correspond to the number of points written on the card (from 0 to 9); "Take 2", "Change direction", "Miss a move" cards correspond to 20 points; "Pick a colour" and "Pick a colour and take 4" 50 points.

Method 2. Sometimes the points are scored by the losing players and the player with the most points loses the game, while the player with the least points wins. The amount of points is a matter of agreement. For example, you have agreed to play up to 100 and you play as many times as you want until you reach that amount. Only the player who did not leave the game counts points. The player with the least points after all games is the winner.

Uno game - penalties

  1. If a player does not say 'Uno' with one card in his hand, he must take two cards from the face-down deck. A penalty is imposed when any other player notices this before the other player has already thrown in his card.
  2. The player who advises the other player must also take two cards.
  3. The player who places the wrong card must also take two cards.
