The greatest success so far has smiled upon Vladas Burneikis, who at the beginning of August became the first Lithuanian to win a gold bracelet and earn the WSOP champion title. In the WSOP #49 $500 DeepStack Turbo tournament, he scooped an impressive $200 thousand cash prize.
Meanwhile, Arūnas Sapitavičius came very close to the winner's title. In the WSOP #41 $400 Colossus tournament, the Lithuanian led in chip count for a long time, but in the final stage of the tournament, his luck waned a bit and he finished in 5th place. For his 5th place finish, Arūnas earned a $156 thousand prize. Over 12 thousand players participated in this tournament.
The following week was no less successful for the Lithuanians. Seven players managed to win over $500 thousand in total. Three Lithuanians – Evaldas Aniulis, Lukas Parednis, and Dominykas Mikolaitis – made it to the final of the WSOP #56 $1500 GGMaster WSOP Edition High Roller. Although none of them managed to take first place, these players collectively scooped over $270 thousand.
Other Lithuanians also managed to reach the final tables of the tournaments – Tautvydas Jokubauskas, Aneris Admokevičius, Vincas Tamašauskas, and Vladas Tamašauskas. In total, they won over $300 thousand.
Meanwhile, on August 13th, in the WSOP #60 $525 Bounty NLHE 6-Handed tournament, Tomas Jozonis managed to secure 3rd place among 3170 participants. This brought him a $61,410 cash prize.
