The number of bookmakers organizing sports betting is growing, and new betting companies are constantly emerging. Just like in all fields, bookmakers are also improving, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for a person newly joining the betting scene each year to “beat” the bookmaker in the long run, aiming to earn from sports betting. But what to do if this field is truly interesting and you want to start engaging in it more seriously, or perhaps even earn from it?
First, you should carefully consider the purpose of starting to bet. The most common options are twofold – for entertainment or to earn money. An exciting match awaits in the evening, and you want to make it even more interesting and thrilling, so you place bets based on your intuition. This is a familiar situation for everyone, but often this is how people get involved in gambling, trying to recover lost sums and so on.
However, if you want not only to watch certain matches more “interestingly” but also to earn money from them, it is advisable to delve deeper into the upcoming match. One of the helpers can be sports betting predictions.
We have already mentioned that betting predictions can be found everywhere these days: from social networks to specialized websites. The internet is also full of ads and pages offering a “miraculous” system that will help you win the lottery, consistently win, bypass betting site systems, and a million other worthless “hooks.” These are cheap tricks designed to attract people who not only understand betting but also marketing and the entire operation principles of betting points/casinos. It is often suggested to place larger bets on favorites with very low odds or to double bets after losing. Neither of these systems has anything to do with sports predictions and analyses, nor with seeking value.
But why does this happen? The whole process has a very simple explanation: people who run such ads usually earn a certain percentage of your lost money. It benefits them if you click their link, register on the respective site, and lose money trying to bet according to their advice. Even if you succeed initially, in the long run, none of the above-mentioned systems will bring you money, and eventually, it will all end with you “burning” the deposited money and trying to recover it in a fit of excitement.
To earn from sports betting, one of the most important things is to understand that a good sports expert does not seek random luck that would allow you to win the largest possible sum in a short time, ignoring the fact that in the long run, the respective betting model may be unprofitable.
Think about it, if any of the “easy money-making” systems were truly effective and anyone who discovered it could become a millionaire, would you share it with others? Easy money doesn’t exist anywhere, and sports betting is no exception.
You have probably noticed that free bets are often offered without any additional description. For example, in Facebook betting groups, you can often scroll through and find piles of free bets, but later you notice that the same person one day posts bets from the Japanese women’s basketball league, the next day from the KHL hockey league, and on the third day shares tips from men’s tennis tournaments.
It can be assumed that this is simply a speculator who does not understand any of the sports in which they bet and places bets simply based on “intuition,” which in 99% of cases does not bring success in the long run. So, what free bets are worth paying attention to?
Let’s start with the fact that in every serious betting prediction, you should find a brief context about the match from which the bet is being made. In which arena is the match taking place (who is playing at home, who is away, or is it a neutral venue)? Next, it is important to pay attention to whether the offered free bet is analyzed in more depth, rather than just taking and describing the results of the last few matches without any insights.
The most important thing is to select a bet that, in your opinion, has value, and the offered odds are worth attention. For example, in tennis matches, the odds offered for player A and player B’s victories are equal. However, you find a free bet that informs you that player A is returning from a serious injury, and player B is defending a large number of ATP points in the tournament. You check the facts, and in such a case, after evaluating the circumstances, you can take advantage of the free bet by placing a bet on player B.
In summary – worthwhile free bets are those where value is sought in the offered odds, analyzing the current forms of players/teams, match circumstances, and other nuances that may be significant for the match result. It is advisable to avoid free bets where only a few previous match results are presented, offering one or another choice without evaluating any match circumstances. To correctly select free bets, it will also take a lot of time, but again, to earn from betting, you need to invest both time and effort.
Betting is still rapidly gaining popularity, so it is natural that you can find betting predictions, both paid and free tips, practically everywhere. However, often a person who aims to earn from betting and does not have much time to analyze events themselves is looking for a tipster who could help them earn from sports betting. Where to find and how to properly choose a tipster?
Let’s start with the fact that most “tipsters” offering their services and asking for money in betting are in the negative and certainly cannot be considered reliable advisors. This is especially relevant when looking for a tipster on Facebook, in sports betting groups. Facebook experts are unique because only on this social network can you find betting diamonds, pearls, emeralds, and all sorts of other gems, on which betting leaves you not only without pearls but also without money. The advice would be to ignore flashy words or photos presented with a prediction of a particular sports event, but to read what information is provided from the offered match and how many real arguments that help make a decision we see.
Another very important point when trying to choose a tipster to rely on for winning in sports betting is to analyze the tipster’s previous bets, betting history, areas where they are most successful, and from which the greatest profit is achieved. For example, the same tipster may have ideal annual indicators from basketball bets but completely opposite from ice hockey bets. Every serious tipster should have at least a couple of years of betting history, especially if it is a tipster who charges a fee for their services. In such a case, you can confidently ask them for detailed statistics, monthly results, and all other information that would help you choose this particular tipster.
The last but also very important point is evaluating the prices of the services offered by the tipster. The prices of betting advisors’ services vary greatly, but the most important point is evaluating your bankroll. For example, you decide to use a tipster whose average monthly hit rate is ~60%, with an average coefficient of 1.85. This means that by betting 100 euros on each tipster’s suggested bet, you will have a profit of 110 euros that month. Suppose the price of the tipster’s services is 100 euros per month. This would mean that even with a 60% hit rate, by risking 100 euros on each suggested event, after deducting the tipster’s fees, you are left with only a 10-euro profit that month. Everyone can have better and worse months, but it is definitely possible to preliminarily evaluate the risk and potential profit based on the tipster’s previous results, so don’t be lazy to calculate your finances and delve into it further before paying someone for services.
Fixes, or in other words, pre-arranged matches, have existed since ancient times, so it is no secret that similar things still happen today. Undoubtedly, the greatest chance of finding “fixed matches” is in the lower leagues of various sports, as due to low salaries, poor conditions, and other nuances, athletes, sometimes even referees, receiving offers to earn extra money by “fixing” the outcome of matches, resort to such things. Fixed matches make sports “ugly,” but how does the whole “fixed matches” process work, and what should you know about it?
Imagine, players who agree to fix the outcome of matches risk thousands in fines, disqualifications from teams, sports leagues. A few years of disqualification can not only bring huge financial losses but also completely ruin an athlete’s career. Fixed matches happen rarely, but since both career and large sums of money are at risk, how easy do you think it would be to get such information, and how much should it cost?
And here, one day you receive a message on Messenger from someone pretending to be a betting “professional,” offering to buy a fixed bet. They send statistics, prices, and all other fake information and look for gullible people who, trusting the fabricated information, would pay money for these “fixes.” After finding a few people, they are often sent different bets on the same match (e.g., one person gets a bet on Team A, another on Team B, so in any case, one of them will win). Then the person who won the bet will trust the “fixer” even more, thinking maybe they really get such information? 100% they do not, and no one with such secret information would look for buyers on social networks, offering to buy a fixed match bet for a few dozen euros.
