This year, the WSOP Main Event took place in a somewhat unusual format. The first stage of the tournament was held at virtual tables on the GG Network, and the tournament final was held in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.
A total of nearly 700 players participated in this tournament, including 11 Lithuanians, and 4 of these eleven reached the prize places. The best performance among the Lithuanians, as we mentioned earlier, was by Dominykas Mikolaitis, who, in addition to finishing sixth in the WSOP Main Event, less than a month ago won bronze in the Caribbean Poker Party Main Event and claimed a $418k prize.
It is worth mentioning that the WSOP Main Event is divided into two regions: Europe and America. The European region champion was Damian Salas, who defeated Brunno Botteon and won $1.5M.
Once it is determined who will become the champion of the American region, on December 30, both winners will compete in Las Vegas for the gold bracelet and the title of the best player of the year.
