Pot Limit Omaha Poker Rules

Omaha poker is very similar to Texas holdem poker. Same hands, same dealer movement, blinds, 5 community cards, flop, turn and river.

The main difference between omaha and texas holdem is that in omaha we get as many as four cards in hand, while in texas we get two. And be sure to play two of our 4 cards. Let's say we have an ace of wines and three red cards in our hand, so if we have four wines on the table we won't have a flush of wines, even though we have an ace of wines, if we want to have a flush we have to have at least two of the same suit in our hand.

Omaha is almost always played at pot limit, meaning that unlike no-limit, we can't push all our money in whenever we want.

How do I calculate bets in pot-limit games? More on this at the end of the video.

It is very important not to be fooled by newcomers, although omaha poker looks very similar to Texas holdem, the mathematics of the games are very different, because in omaha we have twice as many cards, so weak hands lose value and high hands gain value, so omaha is mostly a game of high hands, rows, suits and full houses.
