Poker Mathematics – Outs and Pot Odds
To be a winning poker player, you need to know all the basic poker probabilities, such as: how many outs does a flush draw or straight draw + over card have? Outs are all the cards that can make our combination a winning one. How do our calculations differ after the flop and after the turn?
What to do with those outs?
Pot odds. To find the most accurate decision, we need to compare our outs with the money in the pot and how much we need to call. For example: if there are 10 euros in the pot and the opponent bets another 10 euros, the total pot will be 20 euros, and we need to call 10, so we have a 20:10 ratio or, in other words, 2:1.
