You see a dangerous flop, so you bet, say, more than the pot to tend to fold, or to see the 4th card dearly.

If the 4th card is unfavourable, fold without turning your head too much and continue playing.

Too small a flop raise. I'd raise at least as much as there is in the pot, or even more. And on the turn, I would fold. It's just so easy to fold your best pair when you're scared of a flush.
