If you fold JJ on the turn for this spot, you are very heavily overfolding, because your range that calls from made hands is only a few 8x, 88, and 99. In my opinion, the turn is a really easy call here, NL25 overplays hands a lot of times and I wouldn't be surprised if you beat some TTs or A9s in his value range as well. He also has a lot of...[Read more]

Well, you can't be bad all the time, so you just have to keep your bankroll low and concentrate on making the right decisions 🙂 And what's your nickname in your best poker room, if you want to disclose it? We might have met at the tables

    Hello,

As for the choice of poker room, it won't make much difference which one you choose when playing NL2-NL4 and if you don't play much, because you won't get much rakeback anyway, and there will be a lot of bad players everywhere. So I would choose you over the one you feel more comfortable at the tables, if you're just starting out in poker and you just feel bloody in a room...[Read more]

11bb pre flop. co vs bb we can really stack against 4bet pre flop. As played it makes no sense to shove the flop again, you're knocking out all your opponent's bluffs and isolating yourself against his value range which is probably only QQ+, and if you think you're shoving for the value and can get a call from, say, JJ, that's another reason why you should have already called the flop...[Read more]

Pre flop ok, we have to defend at least 88+ in terms of pairs.

The flop must be called because you will have a lot of different Khigh, A-high hands that you will want to fold before that raise. In general, I would call with all pairs (88-JJ, QQ if we have decided to only call pre-flop) and AKo before such a flop raise.
The turn can be folded very comfortably by 99, it has its own...[Read more]

Preflop you can get a slightly higher OOP from the BB and with >100bb eff I'd say 11bb would be a bit better.
On the flop, I think we really need to bet for value and protection. Perhaps a better candidate would be a checkint if you have Q-wines, but even that is better just betting for value in micro limits. As for sizing, I'd probably r...[Read more]

Hello, so how was Sunday for everyone? Did you have any big hits on MTT? 🙂
As far as my results are concerned, the last few days have been really great and in general, I've been running super well the last couple of weeks. I recently found out about the pokercraft feature in the best poker room, so I'm thinking I'll make a more interesting blog and put together my own...[Read more]

I agree that it is risky, but in my opinion there are many factors to consider when choosing the number of buy-ins when doing a shot than to follow one rule. There are several reasons why I follow a more aggressive bankroll management:

    1. I've never had a mental problem with going down to the limits when needed, so if I lose a few buy-ins I can easily...[Read more]

    Hello,

I'm Ignas, a new member of the Poker School. Just recently I read what seems to be the only active poker blog to date (Aro), which also seems to be abandoned, so I decided to take the baton and start my own, which I was supposed to start on the 2p2 forum, but I think it will be more appropriate here :). These days I play cash games...[Read more]
