Psychological issues in poker

In perfection, man must not be told, commanded, instilled, but must simply be given the opportunity to see for himself, to understand for himself [what a joy it is when understanding comes]. And here [in development] one of the most important roles is played by asking oneself the right questions. It is important to note that our brain works like a very precise supercomputer and can find the answer to any question. Questions are one of the forms that are very powerful in expanding human consciousness.

What is the most important question?? First and foremost, it's being honest with yourself and having the courage to hear the truth and accept it. Some questions are so uncomfortable that we find a thousand reasons not to touch them, whether it's lack of time or just saying "that's a load of rubbish". Second, but not least, is the direction of the questions. Questions can be directed inwards or outwards, at the cause and at the solutions, e.g. two very common and typical questions: Why??How??? Why - focused on finding causes, on the outside [I remind you that the brain finds the answers to all the questions it is asked]. The question "why" is one of the questions that lead to the role of the victim!

To make it easier to understand, let's take a simple example: Let's say a beginner player is in a bit of a mini-minus and he asks himself two different questions, the first one being "why am I here?" and the second: "Like should I get out of here?" In the first case, the brain is looking for a reason, looking for a victim to blame, to justify itself. Even a "good" answer like "because I'm a beginner" is also just a mere excuse. What other answers are there to the question "why"? Maybe it's just a bad run, maybe there are too many badbeats and coolers, maybe the opponents are fishy and will play with anyone, maybe something is in the way? session? or maybe a girl who wants more attention for herself? Yeah, really good excuses 😉 Or maybe it's even got to the point where it seems like the poker room is rigged, where it seems like everybody has paid up against you and everything is so screwed up just to get as much money out of you as possible. What are the answers to the second case: "how do I get out of here?" In this case, the focus is on the solution. It does not matter who is "to blame" for the current situation. The solution is sought and the answer "that you are a newcomer" is no longer satisfactory here. When I ask myself this question, the answer I get is that I need set poker goals, adhere to bankroll managementtake breaks, sign up for a poker forum, debate, post handus, watch poker videos, read poker booksfind a poker coach, etc. In short, there are countless positive answers that lead to a very different future than the answers to the question "why?".

I think this is one of the fundamental questions of development. It's not just in poker that you have to constantly ask yourself, Like should I be better? Kaip play a better game? Like win the tournament?? and other options.

I recommend that those who want high results ask this question regularly, e.g. every week, or after a certain number of tournaments, etc. To reinforce the topic, I recommend watching the Brilliant video: how to get better at poker the fastest.
