Without delving too deeply into wordplay, the role of the victim is when we shift responsibility from ourselves to external circumstances. Everyone knows the saying “everyone is to blame, except me.” In other words, we take on the victim role when we start blaming others, looking for scapegoats, avoiding responsibility for our actions and results, and so on. Do you know such people in life? Uhh, countless, right? 🙂
Let's think together, what can a person achieve in life if they choose the role of the victim? What comes to mind? Do you see this person as successful and happy? Or maybe as a champion or winner? I don't see it either. Such a person has completely let go of their fate, with most of their time and energy consumed by finding new excuses and searching for “guilty” people or circumstances. This person is so immersed in this game that they can't even see that there is another way [there is always another way].
What does such a role choice mean in poker? Exactly the same as in life, such a person chooses to lose, chooses to depend on others, to stand still (not improve), and to keep looking for new “guilty” or “unfavorable” circumstances. These same people tell the same bad beat stories for years about how their flopped straight lost to a rivered flush. Wow, what a misfortune. Maybe it's time to come up with a new story 🙂
The truth is, from time to time we all decide to be victims, I'm certainly no exception, but for some, it's a moment, while others choose this role as their main one in life. (P.S. this role is very, very easily changeable)
To become a winner, you must consciously take responsibility for your results, for where you are now, and for your actions, for the direction you will go. You must choose the fate of a winner (choose a fate where you create favorable circumstances for yourself). And view every failure as a lesson and accept it with joy.
How to get out of the victim state? You need to change your thinking process or the form of questions: Psychology questions in poker I also recommend watching the “Brilliant” video: how to improve in poker the fastest.
I wish everyone decisive decisions.
