Six-time WSOP bracelet winner and the second-highest poker earner of all time, announced the following career change in a twitter message.
I have an announcement I'd like to share with you all about my time with @pokerstars pic.twitter.com/qqY3ABPOTw
- Daniel Negreanu (@RealKidPoker) May 23, 2019
The announcement comes just one day after his marriage to Amanda Leatherman and less than a week before the 2019 WSOP Championship.
"Daniel was one of the biggest promoters of the PokerStars room, and he did it for 12 years. It's been a pleasure to watch his enthusiasm, passion and support over the years," said Rebecca McAdam. "We wish Daniel all the best for the future, a happy family and a great summer."
Negreanu joined PokerStars in June 2007 and quickly became the most prominent man on a team that also included Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Barry Greenstein, Bertrand Grospellier and Humberto Brenes.
PokerStars in turn sent the following message as a thank you to their long-time team member:
"Daniel was one of the most promotional players in the PokerStars room, and he did it for 12 years. It's been a pleasure to watch his enthusiasm, passion and support over the years," said Rebecca McAdam. "We wish Daniel all the best for the future, a happy family and a great summer."
