The challenge lasted almost 5 months, but only At the beginning of 2021, the scales tipped drastically in Phil's direction. In January 2021, a total of seven sessions were played and only one of them was won by Chance Kornuth. 23 January Chance Kornuth announced his defeat on Twitter. A total of 25,400 hands were played and Phil Galfond's total win is $726,500. You can see highlights from the last session and the winner's interview in the video below.
Galfond remains undefeated in its challenge. He has already won against VeniVidi1993, ActionFreak, and his fight against Bill Perkins will apparently not be extended. Phil noted that Chance was the toughest opponent so far and made him sweat a lot and exposed some of the flaws in his game. Galfond is becoming an increasingly respected face in the poker community. He was even appointed judge for the Negreanu vs Polk challenge.

It is worth noting that although Galfond won, the Poker players greatly admired Kornuth's courage to make his defeat public and talk about it openly.
