NBA, NHL, NFL, and MLB
Three major US sports leagues NBA, NHL, and NFL have temporarily suspended their seasons. The coronavirus has also impacted the prestigious men's and women's NCAA basketball tournaments, leading to their complete cancellation.
MLB (the largest baseball league in the world) announced that all pre-season games will be canceled, and the start of the season will be postponed by at least two weeks.
The NBA season was suspended after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus. The next day, a second case was confirmed in the Jazz team, with Donovan Mitchell also infected.
Soccer
The coronavirus is also changing the world of soccer. In addition to the already suspended MLS matches, all friendly matches scheduled for March and April have also been canceled.
Matches in Europe and other continents are being played without fans in empty stadiums, and some are being postponed to later dates.
The Champions League matches scheduled for March 17 between Manchester City – Real Madrid and Juventus – Lyon were also postponed. Juventus player Daniele Rugani tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.
The Premier League match between Manchester City and Arsenal was also postponed. Arsenal played against Olympiakos a few weeks ago, and some team members had contact with Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis, who tested positive for the virus. Later, the coronavirus was also confirmed in Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta.
The Spanish Football Federation has suspended matches for at least two weeks. All Real Madrid players are in quarantine after coming into contact with an infected basketball club member.
French football championship matches will be held without fans until April 15, and the League Cup final between PSG and Lyon has been postponed indefinitely.
In Japan, all matches are also postponed. In China, the Super League schedule has not yet been set, and it is unknown when teams will return to the field.

Ice Hockey
NHL, following the example of other major leagues, has also suspended its season. It is not yet announced how long the matches will be halted, but they will resume as soon as possible.
Most teams have just over 10 games left in the regular season. Therefore, every effort will be made to start the Stanley Cup playoffs on time. So far, no NHL player has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Other ice hockey championships around the world are being held without fans or are postponed.
EuroLeague
The coronavirus is rapidly spreading in Europe. Following the NBA's example, the EuroLeague has also paused its season. Matches in Italy will not be held at least until April 11. Other matches will likely be held without fans or postponed to a later date.
Tennis
The prestigious Miami Open tennis tournament scheduled for March was canceled. Earlier, the BNP Paribas Open tournament was also canceled. Currently, all major tennis tournaments are temporarily postponed until April 27 due to the 2019-nCoV.
