Poker in today's reality is not what it used to be. Well, or at least not as it is portrayed in the movies.
A computer, an extra monitor, and hours spent at home or any other place are the daily routine of these times. In reality, poker is played much less frequently, but in the past, it was impossible to play it any other way.
So PokerioMokykla.com offers you a chance to relax and take a look at a slightly idealized face of poker, associated with high society and criminals. Serious men, smoking cigars and drinking whiskey at the tables, with a gun tucked away.
“PokerioMokykla.com” presents you with a list of recommended movies to watch, which are in one way or another related to poker, betting, or casinos.
We present you with the third part of poker-related movie suggestions.
Win It All (2017)
IMDb rating: 6.4.
The latest and much-talked-about Netflix movie about poker. The plot revolves around a man who is asked to keep a large bag of money. However, the money ends up in the wrong hands, as the main character of the film is a gambler.
It doesn't take long before part of the money is “borrowed.” And returning it is never that simple.
“Win It All” is a well-received movie in the poker community, with situations that describe common realities. People who have seen the film say that many have found themselves in similar situations, so we recommend everyone to watch this movie.
Ocean's 11 (2001)
IMDb rating: 7.8.
If not seen, then at least a well-known movie for many about an attempt by 11 people to rob three Las Vegas casinos simultaneously.
The plan is to get a lot of millions of dollars, but it's not that simple, as similar attempts to rob casinos have ended badly.
Among the actors in this film are George Clooney and Brad Pitt in their youth. And, although the film is already 16 years old, it still remains popular. It's a true classic, appreciated by critics.
It's a light and highly entertaining movie, worth every minute spent.
Ocean's 12 (2004)
IMDb rating: 6.5.
What happens when you have a pile of money, but someone wants to get it back, and you are wanted all over America? Yes, you go to Europe. That's what the old team does in the sequel to “Ocean's 11.”
The same actors with a new team member and another attempt to profit—this time in a heist in Europe.
This is a movie for those who enjoyed the first part and want to see the continuation of the story. Although it did not gain as much popularity as the first part, it is an attention-grabbing film, worth a cozy Sunday evening.
Ocean's 13 (2007)
IMDb rating: 6.9.
The third part, joined by Al Pacino. This time the group's goal is not to profit but simply to take revenge. It turns out that revenge can be fun, as the action takes place in a newly opened hotel-casino.
If you have seen the previous parts of the film, you probably won't miss this one either.
Casino Royale (2006)
IMDb rating: 6.9.
A James Bond classic. A film that has received numerous awards. A real treat for those who love action and secret agent 007 movies.
007's goal is to win a high-stakes poker game. He is provided with funding and, along with another agent, goes to participate in the game in Montenegro.
However, as usual, things do not go according to plan, so cards are not the only weapon used.
