Pokeriomokykla.com: You've been crushing the fields lately: you've won over $10,000 in two tournaments in a week. Congratulations!

Are these your biggest achievements? What were the feelings you had after reaching the final table in both tournaments?

Dream: Thank you Miroslav. Yes, those are my two biggest poker wins. I tried to keep my emotions out of my tournament play and even when I reached the final table I didn't look at the prizes for a particular place so that I wouldn't get upset and it wouldn't affect my play. I just tried to concentrate on the game and play for the highest possible place. After the tournaments were over, of course I had a great feeling and I was very happy with my achievements.

Tell us about each of those tours. About the start, the bubble and itm stage and getting to ft and getting to those positions. What were the key hands and events that led to those positions?

Dream: Since I played a lot of rounds during these sessions, in the early stages of the tournaments I just picked a standard opening range based on certain positions, and of course most of the time I made continuation bets, both on the flop and on the turn, on the right boards. I also tried to tribet the more active opponents more often with medium hands pre-flop in order to gain a betting advantage after the flop. Of course, to reach the later stages of the tournament I needed to be lucky in the situations where I needed to win on the flops. In the Bubble stage I tried to play aggressive and pressure my opponents instead of concentrating on getting into the money. Moving on, I just tried to stay as focused as possible on the game and look for situations where I could hit my opponents, but at the same time I tried to measure every decision and not to get involved in questionable situations. In the final table, of course, I tried to keep my aggression, because most of the players were playing in a very disciplined way. I don't remember a specific situation or hand that I would be proud of, but overall I'm happy with my play, my ability to find a balance between aggression and discipline, and my ability to stay positive and focused throughout the tournament, despite the adverse circumstances (e.g. being in the small stack or falling out of the other rounds).

To win big mtt tournaments, in isolation and individually, you need a lot of luck or at least favourable circumstances. Have there been any successes in your case? Maybe some mistakes that turned into successes/handicaps?

Dream: Yes, luck is definitely a big part of playing poker and winning tournaments. The most memorable situation was in the second round, where I finished 2nd: I remember I had about 10bb with about 30 players left, I pushed from CO position with 66, got a call from JJ and a magic 6 on the river to move on.

You mentioned that Pokeriomokykla.com has helped you become a winning poker player, and that our MTT videos have helped you improve your poker knowledge. However, there are many poker players in Lithuania who do not have a membership with us. Why do you think it's important to learn poker even if it's not your main activity, even if your goals are to have fun at the poker tables?

Dream: Well, I think it depends on each person individually, how much they want to improve in a certain field and how much time they can devote to their hobby. But in order to have fun with poker and also to earn extra income, it is essential to be interested, to learn, to analyse your game and to discuss it with other players. I think it's always more fun to not only play, but also to win something every now and then, and the Poker School is a great place to learn without having to make a huge investment.

Would you be willing to have one of our mtt coaches do a hand history analysis of these rounds for active members?

Dream: I would be interested to hear a professional's comments on my play and certain hands where I may have questioned the correctness of my decision. Such an analysis will of course be useful not only for myself but also for other players.

You have a sizeable bankroll now. What are your future goals with online and live poker?

Dream: Online, I will continue to play MTTs at medium limits, and if I continue to do so well, I plan to go up in limits. I also have ambitions in live poker, so I plan to go to Rozvadov in May and play one of the bigger rounds there. In the autumn, I plan to go to Las Vegas and play in at least one of the MTTs there - that's one of my dreams.
