Matas Cimbolas cashes for $646,930 at WPT Los Angeles

WPT L.A. ends tonight Poker Classic tournament on Saturday night, where Lithuanian Matas Cimbolas performed well.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) L.A. Poker Classic $10,000 buy-in Main Event, and on the final day when the six remaining players faced off, the action moved to Las Vegas

At the very beginning, Matas eliminated Korean Steve Yea, whose A♥3♥ did not stand up to Lithuanian J♦J♣. Soon after, John Smith UTG lined up about a million with 5♣5♥, and Matas found K♠K♦ in the BB and called to raise to 7 million chips and eliminate the second player.

Jean-Claude Moussos was third when he hit David Baker's QQ.

Elias, the second-ranked opponent, was also discarded by Matas when his opponent stopped with 7♣4♣ and Matas called with A♦2♦

The scales swung back and forth during the duel, but Matas got into a losing streak and reduced his chip stack to 14 blinds. On the final hand of the tournament, Matas called from SB position and Baker called. The flop came A♥T♣3♠, his opponent missed, and the American made the call. The American paid another 600,000 after the fourth community card 6♥. On the river, 2♥ brought the American's turn, and he lined up all his chips. After thinking for a bit longer, Matas turned over T♠5♦ and saw that it wasn't enough because his opponent had 5♣4♣.

WPT L.A. Matas Cimbolas, who finished among the 546 remaining in the $10,000 Main Event of the Poker Classic, won the $646,930 prize.
