Laurynas Levinskas beats the €25K High Roller on Day 2 and will play on the Main Table

After a successful run and being the chip leader for most of the day, Laurynas will be back in action today at the €25K High Roller final table for a €809,930 cash prize.

The EPT Monte Carlo tournament series continues, and Lithuanian Laurynas Levinskas is showing his poker skills in the EPT Monte Carlo €25K High Roller. As we wrote yesterday, Laurynas qualified for this tournament by winning the qualifier and the day before yesterday he was among the 56 players who made it through the starting day. Yesterday, on Day 2, his compatriot didn't slow down and spent most of the day as the chip leader, making it to the final table of this tournament.

When the tournament was down to three tables, Laurynas had the biggest stack at 600,000 chips, with poker legend Erik Seidel right behind him with 590,000 rounds. Here's how the seeding looked with three tables remaining:

As soon as the action started, Laurynas found the AA in his hands. His opponent, Koray Aldemir, opened to 12,000 from UTG position and Dietrich Fast just called. Laurynas Levinskas raised to 50,000 from the SB and Aldemir quickly folded. Dietrich thought nothing of pushing his remaining chips and Laurynas called.

A little later, during the bubble phase, Richard Yong pushed all 105,000 of his chips into dealer position, while Laurynas, who had the highest chip stack at the time, also pushed his chips from the SB.

With two tables remaining, Laurynas was also in the lead:

Laurynas also eliminated another opponent, Canadian Mike Watson, in the fight. It all started when Mike made the call from the SB and Laurynas reraised to 50,000 from the BB and Mike called. The community cards opened AhKc7d and both players missed seeing 8d. Mike missed and Laurynas bet 100,000. Mike didn't give up and called. On the last card, they both saw Qd. Mike missed the third time and the Lithuanian pushed 330,000. Mike was down to 255,000 and after some thought he called. Laurynas flipped over 8s8hand Watson was left to fold and exit the tournament in 13th place with €59060 in prize money.

When the final table started, Laurynas was still in the lead:

The Lithuanian had risen to as much as 1650,000 chips at one point when the action started at the final table, but when it came time for the last hand of Day 2, Laurynas lost a huge pot when Sergio Aido raised to 36,000 and received a call from the Lithuanian and Marton Czuczor. The player sitting right in front of the dealer woke up and pushed all his chips to 467,000. Everyone folded until it was the turn of Laurynas, who also pushed all his chips in.

Daniel Dvoress: QsQc
Laurynas Levinskas: AhQd

The community cards did not bring success to a compatriot Js9s7s9c8d and it dropped just under a million chips to 970,000.

Players will return to the tables today to play the final day and battle it out for the €809,930 first prize.
