Hello, so we'll start with the local life column, as usual, and then we'll talk about poker. Since I've been here for a long time, about 3 months now (when they start throwing commercials in the local language while you're watching porn, you know you've been here for a while), I don't really know what to show you anymore, because it all just seems so mundane. If you stop to pass a monkey or a bull on the road and you don't stop, or if there's a traffic jam because someone is riding an elephant and it doesn't surprise you anymore, then you feel stuck here. Or you are stopped by a policeman for driving without a licence and told "agirdi, you've been here a long time, so maybe you should finally get a local licence". That's probably the thing I haven't talked much about is the local food, which for me is one of the big plus points here. I've discovered some good places where you can get fresh tuna for $3, a steak grilled on a barbecue bigger than your grandmother's chops, or calamari+barracuda steaks+shrimp+beer on the waterfront for $5 (photo).
And best of all, you get a meal with a view like this. And the locals say that seafood is expensive in this town (I told one of them how much it costs in Europe, I thought he'd be surprised).
So, all in all, this is an unreal place to base yourself, with an ideal price-quality ratio. It's just that everything here is a bit different than in the "real world", it's hard to explain, but anyone who comes here understands what I mean 😀 So, as I said, if you're curious about something - ask, because I can't think of anything to say, and I don't feel like repeating myself too much, because it won't be as interesting for you to follow it either 😉 p.s. you can definitely afford to live here with micro stakes 🙂
Now about poker, so far December hasn't really been a great month, but a lot of money (compared to my challenge avg BI) went into the micro series, where I played 20~ tournaments and only cashed in 2, and I played both exchanges, the superhighroller (it sounds very funny when it's a round of 50e 😀 ) and the others in a row, so that eaten up a bit of the cash. However, for the rest of December I'm determined to build up strongly and I'm even optimistic that if I can keep the planned volume until January 15 I should be able to collect the remaining 4k euros 🙂 . As I am a Grinch myself, Christmas and Christmas Eve will not be a big obstacle for me (I even did it during the last Christmas Eve). By the way, I have a big problem with distractions during the session again, because I started surfing the internet, checking facebook, chatting during the session, which doesn't really add concentration, but I have found the perfect weapon to fight it and I recommend it to everyone else who has this problem, and that weapon is the Cold Turkey app, for those of you who don't know, it allows you to block certain pages (if you pay some money, you can also block apps) and you can't turn it off with ctr+alt+del, or by restarting the computer, so it's a good thing to have when you don't have the willpower.
