The 12th round of the NA LCS Spring Season will feature two of the favourite teams to win the title: 100 Thieves and Cloud9. Both teams are off to a great start to the season, so this match is very important to move up the standings before the playoffs begin. We will take a look at both teams and, as usual, provide a match prediction.

100 Thieves

100 Thieves (7-3) are currently tied with Dignitas and TSM at 2-4 in the standings. 100 Thieves made a number of roster changes in the off-season, with only top laner Ssumday remaining on the roster, and all other players were bought from the Golden Guardians organisation. The big plus is that they were all players together in the previous season, so this year it took much less time to get into the rhythm of the game.

100 Thieves started the season with 4 consecutive wins against Evil Geniuses, Dignitas, FlyQuest and Counter Logic Gaming. Apart from a surprising loss against Golden Guardians, who are one of the weakest teams in the league this season, the losses came against some of the league's favourites, Team SoloMid and Cloud9. In the match against Cloud9, the 100 Thieves were ahead for a long time, but couldn't hold on to their lead and close out the match, and Cloud9 came back to win the game.

This match will be a great opportunity to see how the 100 Thieves have improved compared to the first round of the season, and what lessons have been learnt from their loss to Cloud9 in the first round. The 100 Thieves are a cut above any team in the league in terms of individual skill, but their main trump card is their good teamwork and exploiting their advantages. With good drafting and no silly mistakes, 100 Thieves would have every chance to take on one of the best teams in the league.

Blaber Cloud9

Cloud9

Cloud9 (8-2) is currently in first place in the standings with 2 losses against Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid. Cloud9 has done a great job in the off-season with one of the biggest League of Legends e-sports transfers. One of the best players in the world, Perkz, the face of the G2 organisation, joined the North America LCS team, which is considered a much weaker region. The team also retains arguably one of the strongest bottom line duos in the LCS in Zven and Vulcan, as well as Jungle position player Blaber. The top position was taken by the underachieving but promising Fudge, who often impresses with his individual skills.

Before the start of the season there were more questions than answers about this team - it was unclear how Perkz would look in this league, whether Fudge would be able to play in one of the favourites to win the whole tournament, how Blaber would look in the starting position, etc. However, in the first half of the season most of these questions were answered and indeed this team is definitely the favourite to win the whole tournament. It's hard to find weaknesses in Cloud9's game, and in order to do so, the other teams usually have to play above their capabilities.

Cloud9 is not the most dominant team in the early stages of the game, and tends to show its strengths in the mid-to-late stages. Cloud9 hasn't been spectacular in many games, but sooner or later they have turned the game in their favour.

Forecast

Two good teams, a high stakes match and great form from both teams going into the match - everything you need to have a good spectacle for League of Legends e-sports fans. Cloud9 is considered to be the clear favourite for the match, but the first meeting between these two teams proved that the difference between them is not as big as one would expect. 100 Thieves are showing great team play and will surely give Cloud9 a fight and try to avenge their defeat in the first round.
