UEFA Champions League
The most prestigious football tournament in the world returns on August 7th. Over the course of a few weeks, in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, many intriguing matches will be played.
The football marathon will start with the second leg of the Round of 16:
- 08.07 22:00 – Juventus vs. Lyon – the first match was won 0-1 by Lyon;
- 08.07 22:00 – Manchester City vs. Real Madrid – the first match was won 2-1 by Man City;
- 08.08 22:00 – Barcelona vs. Napoli – the first match ended in a 1-1 draw;
- 08.08 22:00 – Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea – the first match was won 3-0 by Munich.
Meanwhile, four teams have already secured their place in the quarterfinals before the coronavirus pandemic:
- 08.12 22:00 – a match between Atalanta and Paris SG awaits;
- 08.13 22:00 – a match between RB Leipzig and Atl. Madrid.
It is worth mentioning that all stages of the tournament, starting from the quarterfinals, will consist of a single match. The UEFA Champions League semifinals are scheduled for August 18 and 19, while the final will take place on August 23.
UEFA Europa League
A few days earlier, on August 5th, the UEFA Europa League will resume. Football fans can look forward to the second leg of the Round of 16:
- 08.05 19:55 – FC Copenhagen vs. Basaksehir – the first match was won 0-1 by Basaksehir;
- 08.05 19:55 – Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Wolfsburg – the first match was won 2-1 by Shakhtar;
- 08.05 22:00 – Inter vs. Getafe – this match will decide everything;
- 08.05 22:00 – Manchester Utd vs. LASK – the first match was won 5-0 by Man Utd;
- 08.06 19.55 – Bayer Leverkusen vs. Rangers – the first match was won 3-1 by Leverkusen;
- 08.06 19.55 – Sevilla vs. AS Roma – this match will decide everything;
- 08.06 22:00 – Basel vs. Eintracht Frankfurt – the first match was won 3-0 by Basel;
- 08.06 22:00 – Wolves vs. Olympiacos – the first match ended in a 1-1 draw.
All stages, starting from the quarterfinals, will consist of a single match. The quarterfinals are planned to be played on August 10, the semifinals will take place on August 16, while the final will be on August 21.
NBA – The big basketball is back!
The long-awaited NBA season finally resumed on July 30th. 22 teams moved into the “Orlando bubble,” where all remaining games will be played.
The so-called “seeding games” will be played until August 14. Meanwhile, August 15-16 are reserved for “play-in” games, if needed. In the picture below, you can see how teams will qualify for this year's Playoffs.
The NBA Playoffs will be held in the usual format (best of 7) and will start on August 17. The conference finals are scheduled for September 17, while the NBA finals are expected to begin on September 30.
