English Premier League, 20th round. Manchester City, currently in 3rd place on the league table with 38 points, hosts Sheffield United. The latter is currently in 8th place with 29 points.
A few days ago, we predicted a Man City victory against Wolves, but that match took a completely unexpected turn. Man City's goalkeeper received a red card early in the game, significantly hindering his team's chances. Despite this, Man City managed to build a two-goal lead but ultimately lost the match. This must have been quite a shock for the team, and now the situation on the league table has become even more complicated. Today, Sheffield United arrives at Etihad. Surprisingly, this season the team looks quite good and hasn't lost any away matches. However, no matter how you look at it, the difference between the teams is significant. Sheffield United finds itself in a very tricky situation when visiting one of the league's strongest teams, which desperately needs a convincing victory.
A few interesting facts. Firstly, Man City has never lost to Sheffield and, in general, hasn't lost in 37 consecutive matches against teams that have been promoted from a lower league. Meanwhile, Sheffield has failed to score in 7 away matches against Man City and has lost 15 out of the last 16 away matches against teams that were league champions at the time.
So, the English Premier League. We predict that after the setback against Wolves, Man City will prove their superiority here and delight their fans. This should be one of those matches where the smaller league team is simply punished. Good luck!
