Dan Cates was the first to move ahead and quickly took the lead.
When Monarch bought in with a โฌ3 million buy-in to join Game 3, things changed. Monarch was in great shape.
He held off Jungleman for a few hands, then used his chip stack to keep the pressure on Jungleman and bluffed his way to a second consecutive win. Monarch seemed poised to take the lead at that point.

Nevertheless, the duel was far from over. Both agreed to raise the stakes considerably and to move to โฌ5 million buy-ins.

“Jungleman” stands corrected
After the fourth game, Jungleman seemed to lose patience – even lost a little ground. Playing at $25,000/$50,000, Monarch had an early advantage and twice the chips.
The crowd thought the famous professional was in serious trouble. But things turned around as Jungleman straightened up and changed his plan to win.
In the fifth game, Cates completely dominated. At the crucial moment, Monarch tried to bluff with a king-high against Jungleman's third pair, but Jungleman called with a $750,000 bet. This pot changed the course of the match, as Monarch simply could not recover.
The Finnish player tried again, at one point even betting all in with 9โ 7 โฆ before the flop, but Cates had Qโฆ J โฃ and called. The flop showed Qโ 2 โฆQ โฅ, and Monarch was left with no chance, while Jungleman won the huge pot.

On the river, he picked up a flush to take the lead, and then a royal flush with 10โฃ 9 โ , when it was Aโฃ K โฃQ โฃJ โฃ. Monarch himself admitted: “It looks like it was staged.”
After this moment, Monarch began to slide downhill. He lost a large pot of 80 big blinds when his two pairsflopon the flop lost to Jungleman's better two pairs on the turn.
“Jungleman managed to knock him off after the bottom pair for a $1.8 million win. With only an ace, the player was able to win $8.8 million.
When Monarch bet all in with Qโฅ3โฅ, Jungleman called with Aโฆ8โฅ, and it was the last shot that brought an easy victory when the board opened with 8โฆJโฅAโฃ7โฃ3โ .

Final results
After a gruelling, long session, Cates won four of the six matches and became โฌ13 million richer. Although Monarch was bold and aggressive, Jungleman's toughness, quick understanding of the game and timely shots were too much for him.
