For example, having a draw to a flush or straight.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stone-cold bluff<\/strong> \u2013 when your cards have no real chance of winning, so profitability depends solely on whether the opponent folds their hand.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Opportunistic bluff<\/strong> \u2013 a bet in situations where no one has shown much interest in the pot, and you can expect it to work often because no one has a strong hand.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_bluff\"><\/span>Why bluff?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Bluffing serves the same function as value betting \u2013 it's a way to make profitable decisions. It's important to understand not only whether the opponent likes to fold cards but also their playing tendencies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bet size<\/strong> \u2013 when bluffing, you need to consider what size bet will be optimal. A smaller bet requires fewer folds to be profitable, but sometimes it may not be convincing enough.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How many bets will be needed?<\/strong> \u2013 some opponents won't give up to just one bet. If you can't represent a strong hand, your bluff may fail.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Evaluate the game dynamics<\/strong> \u2013 if you've recently won many pots without showing cards, opponents may start to think you're bluffing too often. In such a case, it's better not to risk complex bluffs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Bluffing is an integral part of poker, but it needs to be used wisely.
