What is the use of poker hands that were accumulated two years ago? With the new year approaching, it's a good time to talk about updating information. It is very important that our databases contain only useful information. Poker is changing every day, good players are learning and improving, analysing their opponents and changing their game, and nowadays even bad players are improving and changing their game quite quickly. So this is the first reason why we need to update our information so that PokerTracker or Holdemmanager does not mislead us by showing us how a player played two years ago. I would recommend keeping the last 6 months of data, if you want more then up to a year.

The second reason to update the information is when we go up in limits, a lot of players can play the same poker when they play rounds up to 20$ but as they go up they change their game because their opponents change, so if we meet them in 20+ limits we don't want to have a 1,000 hands out of a limit of 3$.
